Fresh breeze from steady S.E. Ship steering S.W. by W. Lat. 7.18 S. having run 192 miles in the last twentyfour hours, of which 160 were dead southing. Service as usual morning and evening. Sore throats extending over the ship. Mrs Chas. Mountfort very ill indeed and Hamilton complaining. Quite cold on deck in the evening—getting too cold to wear light things.
