THE AUTHOR: Major T. V. Anson, New Zealand Dental Corps, was born in Wellington and educated at Huntley School, Marton, Wanganui Collegiate School, Victoria University College, Trinity College, Cambridge, and Otago University. He has been in practice as a dental surgeon in Wellington since 1929, and is a past president of the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Dental Association. During the Second World War he was dental officer at Trentham Mobilisation Camp from its inception until May 1940, when he became Principal Dental Officer at Papakura Mobilisation Camp and Principal Dental Officer of the Northern Military District. He served as Brigade Dental Officer in Fiji from July 1941 to January 1942 and then as Dental Officer to No. 2 General Reconnaissance Squadron of the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Nelson.
