the Author:Jim Henderson, born at Motueka on 26 August 1918, was educated at Nelson College. A gunner with 29 Battery, New Zealand Artillery, he was severely wounded and taken prisoner of war at Sidi Rezegh on 1 December 1941. He is the author of Gunner Inglorious, wrote the official history of 4 and 6 Reserve Mechanical Transport Companies, 2 NZEF, and is now with the Talks Section of the New Zealand Broadcasting Service.
