£38,000 For Building At V.U.C

£38,000 For Building At V.U.C.

Not the least pleasing feature of the recent vote of grants by the Government for educational purposes, was the allocation of £38,000 to Victoria College. of this sum, we understand £7000 is to be spent in erecting a new administration block and the remainder in building a Biology wing.

For many years now, conditions at V.U.C. have been very cramped especially in the Science wing. Last year owing to lack of staff accommodation it was found necessary to deprive students of the use of the Common-Common room.

It is to be regretted that there are not more spacious grounds attached to the College in order that the new erections might make a more imposing display.

Weir House recently staged the shortest general meeting in its history. As no business was brought uup the meeting closed quarter of an hour after it had opened.
