Science Society Blows Bubbles
On Tuesday, 16th June, the Science Society heard Mr. Saxton lecture on "Soap."
After a little judicious soft soaping, the lecturer explained to the great unwashed just how little soap was broght into the world.
The chemical mysteries of fats and raw materials were difficult enough to follow, but "Smad" struggled on bravely until met by an overwhelming bombardment of laundry soap, toilet soaps, shaving soaps, soft soaps, hard soaps and washing powders. It left us just too limp to cope with the recover of by-products. Mr Saxton replying to a vote of thanks, remarked that it was all good clean fun, but that he washed his hands of the whole affair.
