They Massey Match.

Despite the fact that Ekdahl was the only member of the Senior SV.'s backs who could make the trip, and with the team well-nigh incapacitated by a huge three-course dinner, V.U.C.'s representatives put up a fine showing against Massey College. Although defeated by 12 points to 6, the score is not an exact indication of the game. Victoria scored two tried to Massey's one, the latter's remaining points being from penalty kicks.

After heavy rain, the ground was very heavy, but a good display of Rugby was given. Both sets of forwards worked valiantly, while the backs were not deterred by a greasy ball from indulging in frequent bright passing movements. The green forwards had much the better of the first spell and saw Burke and Wilson go over for tries, making the half-time score 6-3 in their favour.

In the second spell, Victoria's forwards were unable to maintain the pressure as effectively as in the first, but the backs defended well and but for a brilliant run by Orgias, kept Massey from crossing our linek. If Victgoria had had a good kicker with them, the result might have been different; as it was they were by no means digraced.
