Weir House Have Empty Stomachs

Weir House Have Empty Stomachs

Sir.—

I take up my pen in the case of justice—justice for the residents of Weir House, who are being subjected to a tyranny far more rigorous than professorial authority, because professorial authority can always be combated, but this oppression saps the vitality and health of those who are unfortunate enough to have to eat the meals now being dished up. 1 am not a diet crank, neither are the residents, as whole, but there is a limit,

I certainly think that for his bord money a resident is entitled to a certain amount of consideration In the matter of his appetite, and no person, however strong, will remain healthy and mentally alert if the food served to him is unappetising, both in appearance and quality, and on top of that if he has to wait half the day before he gets even that. This Is a serious matter which may eventually ruin the health and intellect of many, and I hope that the matter will receive due publicity, and that the menu will become a bigger and brighter menu.

P.S.—As a typical example I may quote that this morning a leading resident bad to go without his porridge because there was none left.

Ghandi.
