I Puff My Pipe
I Puff My Pipe
In politics I do my bit
To let the others see,
The hungry child-the workless man
With Labour cannot be.
My vote was for a Labour man
And I'm as proud can be,
"Twas but a little act, my friends,
But it saved the counteree.
We'll feed on milk and honey now;
The rich the taxes pay,
And shure, why not? If we had theirs,
We'd give as much as they.
I'll soon be in a cushy job,
A week is forty hours.
Begorra! now to say goodbye
To milking blooming cows.
Oh, damn and blast, my pipe is out
And dreams drift on no more—
I buy the weed that Micky smokes
And get ideas galore.
