Life's Grey Raiment..

In the faint light of morn
She enters silently,
A rose child clothed with dawn
Transparently.

Through the blue mist of pain
She, suffering palely,
Like the rose-flower in rain,
Droops frailly.

Golden halo of dreams
She wears as wistfully,
The sheen on the rose gleams
Effulgently.

Rose, gold, blue, commingling,
Into luminous grey,
Leads maiden, flower, singling
None in decay.
