Percy Noel Wilson, and Horace William Hobday,

Drowned at Port Nicholson Heads on 26th DEC. 1904.

Noel Wilson was educated at the Terrace School, and at Wellington College, On leaving school, he joined the legal firm of Messrs Skerrett and Wylie, and at the same time entered Victoria College as a law student. He sat for the Final Solicitor's Examination in November and the news of his success had been received only a few days before the holiday which ended so disastrously. He was a member of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club and of various athletic and swimming clubs in the city. An enthusiastic and fearless sportsman and a scholar of ability, he gained the friendship and respect of all with whom he came in contact,

Horace Hobday was educated at Wellington College. In 1902, he entered the service of Messrs Findlay, Dalziell & Co., Barristers and Solicitors, at the same time becoming an undergraduate of Victoria College. He had gained the First and part of the Third Section of the LL.B. degree when he met his death. He took a great interest in sport and especially in the affairs of Victoria College. Quiet and unassuming in manner, he possessed in a high degree, the respect and confidence of his fellows.
