Translation.

1839. 5 December.Manukau District.Orua.We whose names are undersigned do hereby deliver up our land to Mr. Whiteley for the Missionaries of the Wesleyan Church of England. Orua is the name of that land on the south side of Manukau.
[40 acres.] These are the boundaries of the said land: the low-water mark of Manukau on the North: the "Aute," along the ridge on the East: Kaiatemanu on the South, and Pukehorokatoa on the West.
Receipt for £5. This is the payment for the said land, including the water and trees and every thing else pertaining to it, viz. £5 in Cash which is now paid down; the remainder to be paid at a future time. And therefore we affix our names on this day the 5th of December in the year 1839.
