Motuorangi Island, off Paihia, Bay of Islands District.

1823. 13 September.Bay of Islands District.Know all men to whom these presents shall come. I Te Koki a Chief of Paihia in the Bay of Islands in the Island of New Zealand have in consideration of one adze one ax one Motuorangi. hatchet one chissel to me now paid and delivered by the Revd. Hy. Williams on behalf Church of England Mission. of the Church Missy. Society Given granted bargained and sold and by this instrument do give grant bargain and sell unto the aforesaid Revd. Hy. Williams his [½ acre.] Heirs and Assigns for ever all that small Island known by the name of Motuorangi off my settlement in the district of Paihia, as and for ever his own absolute and proper estate. In witness whereof I have to these presents set my hand at Paihia in the Island of New Zealand this 13 day of Sepr. in the year of our Lord 1823.
