Horotutu No. 1 Block, Paihia, Bay of Islands District.

Know all men to whom these presents shall come. I Eroto a Chief of Orututu, in the 1823. 13 September.Bay of Islands District. Bay of Islands, New Zealand, have in consideration of one Jacket, one pair Trowsers, one Shirt, one Axe, one Hatchet, one Spade, one Blanket, one Iron pot, to me now paid Horotutu No. 1. and delivered by the Revd. Hy. Williams on behalf of the Church Missy. Society, Church of England Mission. Given granted bargained and sold, And by this present instrument do give grant bargain page 62and sell unto the aforesaid Rev. Hy. Williams his heirs and executors for ever all that piece and parcel of land adjoining that on the one side and to the Western comprising [4 acres.] all that district known by the name in the district of Paihia as and our absolute and proper estate. In witness whereof I have to these presents set my hand at Paihia in the Island of New Zealand this 13 day of Sepr. in the year of our Lord 1823.
