Kaeo Block (Wesleyan Mission Station), Whangaroa, Mangonui District.

A Memorandum of an Agreement between the Rev. S. Leigh on one part, and George 1823. 16 August.Mangonui District. the Chief at Wangaroa on the other part, Witnesseth that the aforesaid chief agrees to sell a piece or parcel of Land containing fifty acres more or less, Bounded on the East Kaeo. side by a small Wood and a Gully, on the West by the road made by the crew of the Wesleyan Mission. Dromedary to bring, the timber to the River, and on the Boundaries. North by the River and on the South by the rising ground above the present Missionary House for which Land the [53 acres.] aforesaid Revd. Sam. Leigh agrees to pay the said George Two Blankets, Three Red Consideration. Cloaks, and Fifteen Axes.

In Witness whereof the said contracting parties have hereunto set their hands this 16th day of August One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty-three.
