Translation.

1859. 15 August.We have received on this 15th day of August 1859, the sum of forty pounds £40 fromTukuwaru Reserve Mr. McLean. This is a payment to us for our land called te Tukuwaru, which wasReceipt for £40. reserved for us when the land was first sold to the Queen. This land we have finally and entirely sold and assured under the shining sun of this day, with all its trees, and the soil itself, we have conveyed the whole as a sure possession to Victoria the Queen of England Her Heirs and the Kings and Queens Her Successors for ever.
