Translation.
Greytown,
9th November, 1870.
1870. 9 November.Tauherenikau.We have this day received a portion of the five per cents on
our block of land whichReceipt for £430. [Five per cents.] we sold to the Government formerly in the Wairarapa District. The name of
that block is Tauherenikau Waingawa. We have this day received the five per cents
due from the date of the cession of the land to the 30th June 1869. The amount of
five per cents we have now received is four hundred and thirty pounds sterling and
the Government will furnish us with the accounts of the pieces sold within that
block up to that time. Mr. Kemp Commr. of the Government has paid us these five
per cents in the presence of Mr. Wardell Resident Magistrate of the Government of
New Zealand at Wairarapa.
