This is the first payment for our land at Maungaraki, the plan, and names of the boundaries of which are hereunto attached. The names of the boundaries are these; commencing atMaungaraki. Wainui-o-ru, thence inland to Mitihau, thence to Akakahia, thence to Pukaiaia, thence toReceipt for £50, advance. Manuhiri, thence to Ahuarapa, thence to the summit of Maungaraki, thence to Matititi,Boundaries. thence to Pareharakeke, thence to Waikakariki, thence to Waikoko, thence to Taumatahouhou, thence to Paeakanui, thence to Ahimoana, thence to Taumatawakatangitangi, thence to Patakahua, thence to Mangaapopo, thence to Taumatatakutai, thence in the Mangaapopo stream into the Wainui-o-ru, turning thence down the Wainui-o-ru to Mitihau. When the lands have been examined, their goodness or worthlessness known, their extent or smallness seen, then will the amount of the final payment be decided upon. And in testimony of our consent, we hereunto affix our names and marks.
