Translation.
Received from Mr. McLean the sum of one hundred pounds (£100)
once told as payment1853. 31 December.Rongomaiaia. for the land of Haimona Pita Hinaki at Ruamahanga which I have this day
given up for ever to Victoria Queen of England and to the Kings or Queens who may
succeedReceipt for £100. her for ever and ever.
The Boundaries of the land are on the East from Rongomaiaia extending into
theBoundaries plain to Moroa thence turning towards Wakaneke-a-tira-kino thence along
the banks of the Ruamahanga river to Rongomaiaia.
And in testimony of the receipt of this £100 on this 31st December 1853 I
herenuto affix my name.
