Translation.
1853. 25 August.We the persons whose names are affixed to this paper hereby
agree entirely to give upWairarapa District the portion of land now occupied by McMaster at Tuhitarata to Victoria
the Queen of England and to the Kings or Queens who may succeed her for ever and
ever.
Tuhitarata. The boundaries of this portion of land commence at Kaipapa thence to
Waiparau and along the boundary perambulated by Mr. McLean, McMaster, Hemi te
Miba and(McMaster's home stead.) Poneke. This land is to be a lasting possession for the Queen for ever
and ever.
Receipt for £15 And in testimony of the receipt of the sum of (£15.0. 0) Fifteen Pounds
on this 25th day of August in the year of our Lord 1853, we hereunto affix our
names and solemn assent.
