1873. 17 December.Wairarapa District. This Deed made the seventeenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy three between Karaitiana te Korou of Wairarapa in the Province of Wellington an aboriginal native (hereinafter called the vendor) of the one part and Her MajestyKurumahinono Queen Victoria (hereinafter called the Queen) of the other part, Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds paid by Thomas Albert Hill of Wairarapa to the Vendor, (the receipt of which he doth hereby acknoReceipt for £200. wledge) the Vendor doth hereby convey and assure unto the Queen her heirs and successors, All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Province of Wel-page 408lington in the Wairarapa District containing six hundred and ninety acres more or less and known as the Kurumahinono Block, Bounded towards the North by theBoundaries. [690 acres.] Waitotohuato Stream towards the East by lines being the boundaries of the Kai-o-te-atua and Te Aotuhirangi Blocks, three hundred and twenty eight (328) links, three hundred and thirty one (331) links, two hundred and seventy (270) links, two hundred and fourteen (214) links, four hundred and eighty nine (489) links, four hundred and ninety six (496) links, seven hundred and fifty four (754) links, one hundred and eighty nine (189) links, four hundred and sixty (460) links, four hundred and nine (409) links, four hundred and fifty two (452) links, five hundred and three (503) links, five hundred and ninety eight (598) links, five hundred and seventy three (573) links, three hundred and seventy three (373) links, five hundred and thirty nine (539) links, three hundred and sixty three (363) links, one thousand three hundred and eighty (1380) links, one hundred and sixty seven (167) links, one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven (1887) links, three hundred and three (303) links, four hundred and eighty two (482) links, two hundred and sixty seven (267) links, one hundred and ninety five (195) links, one hundred and forty nine (149) links, two hundred and forty (240) links, six hundred and eighty two (682) links, four hundred and twenty (420) links, and four hundred and eighty four (484) links towards the South West by lines seventy (70) links and two hundred (200) links and by the Mangaruaoto Stream and towards the North West by Streams and by hills being boundaries of Native lands two hundred and forty three (243) links, seven hundred and sixteen (716) links, four hundred and ninety three (493) links, two hundred and forty five (245) links, and two hundred and sixty nine (269) links as the same is delineated on the plan drawn in the margin hereof to Hold the said block of land with the appurtenances unto the Queen her heirs and successors for ever. In Witness whereof the said Vendor hath hereunto subscribed his name the day and year first above written.
