1874. 21 October.Waitara West District.This Deed made the twenty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy four Between Paiura, Mata Ahuroa, andPt. Rural Section No. 123. Raimapaha all of Waiongona min the Province of Taranaki and Colony of New Zealand aboriginal Natives of the one part and Her Majesty the Queen of the other part Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty eight pounds ten shillings paid by the Minister of Public Works to the said Paiura, Mata Ahuroa,Receipt for £248 10s. and Raimapaha (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) they the said Paiura, Mata Ahuroa, and Raimapaha do and each of them doth hereby convey and assure unto Her Majesty the Queen her heirs and successors and assigns All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Waitara West rural District in the Province of Taranaki aforesaid page 51being part of section numbered one hundred and three (103) on the map of the said District and containing by admeasurement fifty acres one rood and fifteen perches (more or less) Bounded towards the East partly by the Waiongona River one thousand seven hundred and fifty links and partly by other part of said sectionBoundaries. [50a 1r. 15p.] number one hundred and three, three hundred and eighty links, towards the North by Te Arei road eight hundred and ten links towards the North West by the Waitara and New Plymouth Railway two thousand eight hundred and fifty five links, towards the West by Lepper road one thousand five hundred and sixty links and towards the South by section numbered one hundred and four two thousand eight hundred and ten links And also all that other piece or parcel of land situate in the said Waitara West rural District being also part of said section numbered one hundred and three (103) and containing by admeasurement twenty acres three roods and twenty five perches[20a. 3r. 25p.] (more or less) bounded towards the North and North East by Te Arei road two thousand five hundred and twenty five links, towards the West by Lepper road one thousand eight hundred and twenty five links and towards the South East by the Waitara and New Plymouth Railway two thousand six hundred and fifty five links; As the same are delineated on the plan drawn in the margin hereof; Together with all ways rights and appurtenances thereto belonging and all such estate right title and interest in and to the same as they the said Paiura, Mata Ahuroa, and Raimapaha are or shall become seized or possessed of or are by "The Immigration and Public Works Act 1870" of "The Immigration and Public Works Act Amendment Act 1871" empowered to convey or otherwise assure, To hold the said land and premises unto her Majesty the Queen her heirs and successors arid assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto subscribed their names the day and year first above written.

Crown Grant to Paiura and Two Others, Taranaki.

1872. 15 August.Waitara West District.Victoria by the Grace of God of the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen, To all to whom these presents shall come, Greeting, Know ye that for good considerations us thereunto moving We for Us our heirs and successors do hereby grantRural Allotment No. 103. unto Paiura, Mata Ahuroa and Raimapaha aborignal Natives of New Zealand their heirs and assigns all that parcel of land in our Province of Taranaki in our Colony of New Zealand containing by admeasurement Eighty one (81) acres more or less being the rural allotment numbered one hundred and three (103) on the plan of the Waitara District West (Puketapu block) Bounded towards the North East by the Te Arei roadBoundaries. [81 acres.] four thousand six hundred and eighty eight (4688) links towards the South East and North by Waiorgona River and rural allotment No. 104, Two thousand seven hundred and twenty (2720) links and towards the West by Lepper road three thousand four hundred and fifty five (3455) links as the same is delineated on the plan drawn in the margin hereof with all the rights and appurtenances thereto belonging; To hold unto the said Paiura Fifty (50) acres Mata Ahuroa fifteeh (15) acres two (2) roods and Rai-mapaha fifteen (15) acres two (2) roods their heirs and assigns for ever as tenants in common and not as joint tenants as from the tenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and sixty six, In testimony whereof we have caused this our grant to be sealed with the seal of our Colony of New Zealand Witness our trusty and well beloved Sir George Ferguson Bowen Knight grand Cross of our most distinguished order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander in Chief in and over the Colony of New Zealand at Wellington this fifteenth day of August in the thirty sixth year of our reign and in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy two.
