1852. 31 August. Araheke.Receipt for £20.We have receivedfrom Mr. McLean and Mr. Cooper, twenty single
pounds in money (£20) in payment for all our land from Mr. Smart's boundary as far
as Araheke adjoining the boundary of Governor Fitz Roy—We give up entirely this
land to the Queen of England from henceforth for ever.
And, in consideration of our consent to this arrangement we have signed our names and marks to this document upon this day, namely on the 31st day of August in the year 1852.
