Translation.

1857. 31 March.Knowall men by thisDeed We ther Maoris of New Zealand under the provisions of Te Aute No. 1. the Act of 1856 respecting Native Land, give to Victoria the Queen of England and to Her descendants the Kangs or Queens who may succeed Her all that, land described in Grant of school land. this document.
Boundaries. [1,745 acres.] The boundary commences at Te Roto-a-Kiwa thence along the Wai-o-Pakini to Rptoatara, thence to the margin of the lake and on to Ohinemanuwhiri thence along the hill to Te Whatupungapunga thence to Waipapa thence to Te Horo thence to Oreke, thence to Te Kbhai there, it-turns and goes on to Te Raroa thence along the valley to Roto-a-Kiwa where it ends.

And it will be for the Queen of England to give that piece of land to George Augustus Bishop of New Zealand and to all the Bishops of New Zealand who may succeed him as land for the school, for the education of children, which is being established by the Bishop of New Zealand at Te Auto And that land will be looked after and held by the Bishop of New Zealand and by all the Bishops who may succeed him as a place for that school for ever.

In token whereof we sign our names and make our marks to this document on this thirty first day of March 1857.
