Translation.
1854. 9 August.Thames District.We have received on this ninth (9th). day of August in the year
of Our Lord 1854 the sum of Thirty Pounds (£30) ouce told, being the first
instalment for our land at Te Poua at Hauraki. When the land has been surveyed and
its area ascertained the total Te Poua. amount of payment shall be decided upon. The boundary commences at Te Poua,
Receipt for £30, first instalment. thence inland to Te Paiaka, thence to Te Repo and into the Katinga stream in
the course of which it proceeds to Te Poua. And in testimony of our having received
Boundaries. the above named monies from Mr. McLean we hereunto affix our names and
marks.
