Translation.
We have received from Mr. McLean this eighth (8th) day of August
in the year 1854. 8 August.
Coromandel District. of Our Lord 1854 the sum of Eighty pounds (£80) being the first instalment
for our land Te Koma, when it has been surveyed the total amount of payment will be
decided upon. The boundary commences on the South at Waitapu and runs inland along
the side of Mania to Otumakoru thence it proceeds still further inland to Te Koma. the path leading to Maungakawa, thence towards Waiau as far as Panetata
thence Receipt for £80, first instalment. outwards along the ridge of Puketutu as far as Tuhaua and on to the sea,
along the coast line it proceeds to Waitapu. Now we have fully consented to give up
Boundaries. for ever this land to Victoria the Queen of England with its streams timber
minerals and all thereunto appertaining. And in testimony of our full consent we
hereunto affix our names and marks.
