Translation.

I have received from Mr. McLean the principal Commissioner for the purchase of Lands for the Government of New Zealand, the sum of Forty pounds (£40.) on this seventh (7), day of August, in the year 1855. This is the last and final payment for te 1855. 7 August. Te Puni And Other Blocks. Puni, te Roto, te Kopu o Rangitakina, te Maro-ohinewai, Waihoehoe, and Tirikohua. These lands are now for ever given with all thereunto appertaining to the Queen and to Receipt for £40, final payment. the Kings and Queens who may succeed Her for ever. These monies are for all the Ngatiteata.
