Translation.
1854. 11 December.Waiuku.Know all men I have this day received the sum of Fifty Pounds
(£50) once told. These monies are to be deducted from the final payment for Waiuku
and Whakaupoko Receipt for £50, advance. according to my agreement with Mr. McLean—Five hundred pounds being agreed
to by Mr. McLean—Fifty pounds I received on a former occasion with which to purchase

seed potatoes and this day I have
taken Fifty pounds once told. These monies were paid to me by Mr. Kemp at Auckland
this eleventh day of December in the year 1854.
