Translation.

1863. 21 February.Received by us from Mr. Searancke on this 21st day of February 1863 the sum of £50 being the full payment to us all for our pieces of land which we have given up to Whangarei District. Queen Victoria as a road for the Pakehas and for us. The road commences at Waiariki and ends at Wharekohe. One portion of Te Manihera’s and our land (over Waiariki and Wharekohe. which the road runs) commences at Waiariki and ends at Kirikiri. It then goes over Taurau’s land from Kirikiri to te Hihi where it ends. This payment however is not for Receipt for £50. Taurau’s part. Te Manihera’s and ours commences again at Te Hihi and ends at Totoai. Boundaries. At Totoai Rimi’s land commences and ends at Whangaiapaoa Te Manihera’s and ours (Public road.) commences again at Whangaiapaoa and ends at Puketutu. At Puketutu Te Tirarau’s and Hori Kingi’s commence and extends as far as Wharekohe for which there is to be no payment.

This road has been surveyed by Mr. Bedlington and a plan of it drawn, and the part that is over our land is to be one chain (66 feet) wide. We have finally ceded it to the Queen of England this day for ever and ever no further payment is to be made to us.
