Translation.

1856. 3 January.Wehave received on this day, the third (3) of the days of January in the year 1856, —The sum of Twenty pounds These are the monies for us, for the Ngatirarua residing at Porirua;—or rather all the Ngatirarua at this end of the island; which Waitara Mokau and Awakino. Takerei agreed should be given to us for all the lands at te Akau o Mokau, and on to Claims of Ngatirarua tribe. Papaiatai; and inland as far as the Ngatirarua boundary extends. Receipt for £20.
