1854. 4 September.Whaingaroa Block.We Hetaraka and Mohi sons of Wiremu Nera Te Awaitaia have this
day received the sum of Thirty Pounds (£30) once told from Mr. McLean through the
hands of Mr. Receipt for £30, advance Kemp, Now these thirty pounds are to be repaid to Mr. McLean when we sell
our lands at Whaingaroa to the Government of New Zealand; and if it is not paid from
the sale of our lands then we will repay it from the sale of our wheat and potatoes
and other produce. In testimony whereof we hereunto affix our names and marks.
