Translation.
1854. 26 July.We have received from Mr. McLean on this the 26th day of July in
the year 1854 the Hauraki. sum of Fifty pounds (£50) being the first instalment for a portion of our
land called Receipt for £50, first instalment Hauraki situated at Whangaroa. The boundaries are these,—it is bounded by
the sea, and at Kerekerenga crosses over the isthmus to Waitetuna, which land we
give up to Boundaries Victoria the Queen of England for ever.
