1848. 19 January.Manukau District.Ko Te Tuhituhinga tenei pukapuka i te ra 19 o Hanuere kotahi mano waru rau e wa tekau ma waru te wakaaetanga mo matou, nga Rangatira me nga tangata o Akatai te wakaaetanga ano hoki o te Kuini o Ingarani mona, na ko nga Rangatira me nga tangata Paraheka. o Akatai nga tangata i te kainga e tuhituhia nei ki tenei pukapuka, na ka wakaae nei aua rangatira me aua tangata ki te hoko i tenei whenua ki a Kuini Victoria hei utu mo nga hoiho uwa ewa ka hoatu nei ki nga Rangatira me nga tangata, no konei, ka hoatu nei, ka tuku atu nei ki a Victoria te Kuini o Ingarani, ki te Kingi, Kuini ranei o muri i a ia ake ake ake, i taua whenua me nga aha noa iho, aha noa iho o tenei kainga ko ona rohe koia tenei, ka timata i Tangatu ka haere a Taraheke, ka haere Papareia ka haere a Te Pahi ka haere a Puku o te Pao, ka haere a Papakohatu ka haere a Matarau, ka haere a Boundaries. Translation.

1848. 19 January.Paraheka.This Deed made on the 19th January 1848 is the consenting of us Chiefs and men of Te Akitai with the Queen of England on her own behalf We the Chiefs and men of Akitai who claim the land described in this Deed do hereby consent to sell the said Land to Queen Victoria in consideration of four Mares given to us Chiefs and men wherefore we make and give over to Queen Victoria and to Her Successors for ever the said land with all rights thereto belonging.
The boundaries are as follows commencing at Tangitu thence to Paraheka thence to Papareia thence to the Pahi thence to Te Puku o te Pao thence to the Papakowhatu thence Boundaries. to Matarau thence to Takaraho thence to Nganipu where; it turns to Horomia thence to Te Aute where it adjoins the Government Land bounded on the other side by the Manukau the Plan of it is drawn on the other side of this Deed.
