Translation.

1853. 1 July.This Deed entered into on the first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Kaipara District. eight hundred and fifty three being the consent of the Chiefs of the Nga Tiwhatua of Manihera, Reweti and Tuaea also the consent of the Queen of England for herself, Now Te Kauri. we the owners of this Land described in this Deed do now agree to sell to Queen Victoria for the sum of Ten pounds now given to us, for this we now let and give to Victoria Queen of England and her heirs for ever this land and all belonging thereto, Boundaries. the Boundaries are these on the Est by the Pitoitoi Creek, on the North by the boundary of the land as defined in the sale to Mr. Elliot on the West it takes the boundary of Kaipakau as defined in the sale to Europeans, on the South it is bounded by the land as sold to Mr. Fulton, there is not any land now remaining between Mr. Fulton's and Mr. Elliot's claims all the intervening land is now sold as by this Deed defined.
