Whangarei puta atu kei te awa o Otaika, kua oti te ruri i a Te Herangi, te whakamarama Road To Otaika. ki te Tati e tokoto nei kua whakaatu hoki ki a matou. Receipt for £19 . 18.

Translation.

Received by us on this the 13th day of September, the sum of Nineteen Pounds, 1864. 13 September. eighteen shillings (£19 . 18 . 0) being the full payment for the Road from Whangarei Road To Otaika. up to the Otaika river, which has been surveyed by Mr. Searancke, and distinctly laid off on the Plan here present, which has also been shewn to us. Receipt for £19 . 18.
That Road commenced at Raumonga at Te Manihera's house (the width of the road Boundaries. shall be one chain) thence to the crossing of the Otaika river to Koketai, this shall be a page 176thoroughfare for the Europeans and for ourselves, therefore dwe finally convey this-place to the Queen for ever and ever.
