Translation.

1855. 13 July.Whangarei District. This Deed being a sale of land executed on this the thirteenth day of July at Tamaterau in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty five being the consent of us Wiremu Eru Pohe and Tipene Hari also Hirini Taiwhariga and Hinewaru to give up and make Manaia. over part of our land to Queen Victoria the Queen of England and Her Heirs the Kings and Queens after her for ever in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Receipt for £200. pounds (£200) given into our hands by Mr. Johnson one of the Commissioners for the purchase of lands for the New Zealand Government. These are the boundaries of this Boundaries. [5,365 acres.] land. Commencing at the creek of Wakamaru at the boundary of Taurikura as sold by us formerly to Mr. Mair and going on in this boundary coming out at Puke-hungarere then going along on the beach to Tohora then going in to Whangarei and on to the Kakaho then going in the river of Whangarei outwards to Opango and Pouewe until it joins Wakamaru being the place where these boundaries first commenced.

We fully give up and make over this land to Queen Victoria with all its creeks lakes cliffs stones trees and all thereto appertaining above or below in or on this land in proof of which we hereunto affix our names on this day as named in the beginning of this Deed.
