Translation of Endorsement.
1865. 13 June. Now also on the occasion of the recent survey by Mr. Fairburn we have
sold and handed over to the Government 486 acres of land, being a portion of the
Kahikatea Kawakawa Bush. Bush land situated on the main stream of the Kawakawa, containing seven
hundred and forty five (745) acres, which we the Maories reserved from the
former sale.
We have also received this day from the hand of Henry Kemp Dist. Com. Receipt for £1,106. £1106 . 0 . 0 being the sum agreed upon between us in payment for that
Block of land.
In witness whereof we have affixed our names and marks to this document this 13th day of June in the year of our Lord 1865.
