Te Papa; Tauranga, 29 October, 1869.
Received from Mr. John Chadwick the sum of One pound for a piece of land situated Enclosure 17. at the Island of Matakana known by the name of Mokaiwakahui surveyed by Mr. C. P. Receipt for £1. Frasi and I hereby promise to prove my title to the said land in the Native Lands Court at its next sitting in Tauranga and to hand the Certificate for the same to Messrs. Mokaiwakanui. [3 acres.] Whitaker and Russell when I receive it from Mr Clarke Civil Commissioner, estimated to contain three acres, this being in full payment.
