Pakuranga Block, Patetere, Waikato District.

1873. 13 March.Waikato District.Know all men by these Presents that I Charles Tothill in the agreement hereunto annexed mentioned in consideration of all money expended by for on account of or in Pakuranga. respect of the land described in the said agreement hereunto annexed (which the Natives Tumai Tawhiti Ko Tawhiona Ko Hamahoria Heretaunga Ihaia Kopiri Riri ata Kohoro and Te Mahiana have agreed by the said agreement to lease to me as herein mentioned) having been repaid to me on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Victoria (the receipt Assignment. whereof is hereby acknowledged) I do hereby assign transfer and assure unto Her Majesty Queen Victoria All and every right title interest claim and demand whatsoever which I have or possess in to or in respect of All that piece or parcel of land situate at Patetere and called or known by the name of Te Pakuranga as the same is described in the Schedule to the said annexed agreement To hold unto Her Majesty Queen Victoria her heirs and successors. In Witness Whereof the said parties have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals.

Agreement

Ngaruawahia, 13 March, 1873.
Agreement to lease.We the undersigned do and each of us doth hereby agree to Lease unto Charles Tothill his heirs executors administrators and assigns for the term hereinafter mentioned all that piece or parcel of land situate at Patetere and called or known by the name of Te Pakuranga bounded as described in the Schedule hereto yielding and paying rent at the rate of Five pounds sterling per annum for each and every one thousand acres page 589therein contained until such time as the said land shall have passed through the Native Land Court and shall have been stocked with sheep and at such time the said Charles Tothill shall pay an additional sum of Five pounds per annum for each and every one thousand acres of land contained in the said block and we further agree that so soon as the said land shall have passed through the Native Land Court we will when called upon so to do sign and execute to the said Charles Tothill or his assigns a good and valid lease of the said land on the terms herein and for a term of Twenty one years from the date thereof In Witness Whereof we have hereunto signed our names.

All that piece or parcel of land situate at Patetere Schedule. and named Te Pakuranga Bounded commencing at Okewa at the mouth of the Waioraka Creek, thence by the Waioraka Creek to Tahau, thence by survey lines to Pukemohiohio thence to Te Pakuranga thence to Mangawhio thence to Ngutuwera Creek thence by a line to Okewa the commencing point.
