Translation.

This Deed written on the seventeenth day of July 1848 is an agreement between me a 1848. 17 July.Lower Waikato District. Chief of Ngatiteata and the Queen of England on her own behalf Whereby I the owner of the Land described in this Deed agree to sell this Land to Queen Victoria in consideration of fifty pounds sterling now given to me wherefore is now given and delivered over to Victoria Queen; of England and to Her Successors for ever that Land called the Puni with all thereto belonging its boundaries are as follows On the North it commences Boundaries. at Wahaoruamano and goes till it reaches Koemoko on the East it goes to Whaiatiapa to Pukekohi to Iaroa there the Southern boundary begins and continues along the Waikato river to Ngateke on the West the boundary goes to Wahaoruamano the Plan of this Land is drawn on the other side of this.
