New Zealand Sheep in Australia
Probably one of the greatest and long-looked-for events which has happened since our last Conference was the declaration made by our Government that New Zealand was free of scab, and as our Australian neighbours were most anxious to secure our long wooled rams, very little time was lost by the New South Wales Government in throwing open their ports to our sheep, with the result that their July sales of 1893 were largely supplemented by New Zealand bred sheep, and it is satisfactory to know that the latter not only sold at fairly remunerative rates but have given satisfaction there.
