It will thus be seen that anything in the nature of complexity in working out the results of an election under this system is dealt with by the returning officer and his assistants—trained men— page 26 the voter's work is simple in the extreme. It is very doubtful if in practice the work of the returning officer would much exceed that required of him now; but, if it did, surely the results obtained would fully justify the most elaborate machinery being created if necessary, which it would not be.
