The Pamphlet Collection of Sir Robert Stout: Volume 62

Names of Judges

Names of Judges

Mr Holmes said that at present the names of judges were kept private and not made known to exhibitors. He wished to see an alteration in this, because the secrecy was now only nominal. The names were known to the Committee appointing the judges, and to friends of the Committee. Thus one-half of the exhibitors knew the names of the judges, but the other half did not. He therefore moved—"That it be a recommendation to the various Societies to publish the names of judged appointed in the various classes."

Mr Brown seconded the motion.

After some discussion, in which Mr McLaren and others took part, the resolution was put and carried on division.
