(5.) That the teaching of Singing and Drawing should be optional.

In regard to Certification and Classification of Teachers, this Association considers that no one individual, no matter what his position, should have the power of fixing the status, and thus to some extent determining the reputation of teachers all over the Colony; and that the Degrees and Honours of other Universities should entitle their holders to the same rank as those of the New Zealand University.
