P. D. Chatwin

A Product of Dannevirke High School and also Wellington College (which he represented in Cricket and Athletics), Peter Chatwin is now a fifth-year Law student. He has been a member of the 2nd Hockey XI 1948-49 50-51-52 and has also played for the 1st XI. representing V.U.C. at Winter Tournament, 1950. Also a member of the Cricket Club 1948-49-50, Athletic Club 1950-51, Boxing Club 1949, Tennis Club 1951-52, Tramping Club 1949-50-51, Easter Tournament 1951, Law Faculty Club (committee 1950-51-52), Extrav. 1950, and is also interested in the Drama and Debating Clubs.

This year he was appointed Secretary' V.U.C. and N.Z.U. Easter Tournament Committees, largely contributing by his energy and efficiency to a highly successful Jubilee Tournament and has recently been appointed Senior Delegate for Winter Tournament, 1952.

He stands for increased enthusiasm in organisation in student affairs, immediate commencement of construction of a ground for Sports Clubs on the land donated by the City Council, Tournament travelling subsidies, a deputation to the Government for Student Union Building—Now, Weir House board inquiry Jointly with Weir Committee, University status for V.U.C. and consequently lower fees, better public relations through student articles and speakers, voluntary medical exam, scheme ready for 1953 enrolment.
