K. M. Phillips

Ken is a fifth year Arts cum-Science student employed in the Geological Survey. A member of the outgoing Executive, he has held various offices on the committees of the Cricket. Rugby Football and Harrier Clubs, amongst others. A Cricket Blue and member of the Senior XI since 1949. he played for N.Z.U. in 1950 and 1951. He has competed in several tournaments, was a delegate at Dunedin last August, and as Senior Delegate this year was responsible for the organisation and administration of the Jubilee Easter Tournament.

Strongly opposed to political prejudice in Exec. and student affairs, he will, if elected, work for better co-operation, understanding and contact between students, clubs, and the Exec, and between the student body and College authorities; improvement to existing, and progress with proposed student facilities, including Te Aro Park, student Association Building, etc., re-introduction of travel subsidies; possibility of establishment on N.Z.U. scale of an "Arts Festival," including, Drama. Debating, etc.; revision of system of allocating Club grants; stirring of enthusiasm in the College with regard to greater participation Phys. Ed. schemes; support for all sound, progressive schemes brought before the Executive.
