Wilson Saviour

Dear Editor.

I do not agree at all with the writer of MSSA Fiasco which appeared in the Salient on September 19.

Rather what happened at the Annual General Meeting was something that's out of the world. No other student association election (and VUWSA included) can be as fair as the MSSA election. Why I say the election was the fairest of all is that nowhere in any association can a person vote without first becoming a financial member of that association. MSSA broke that barrier. I say this because I was not and am not a financial member and that Great White Hope Mr Peter Wilson has intervened on my behalf and on behalf of a dozen other non-financial members (who rushed down from the library to vote) by abrogating the MSSA Constitution regarding voting requirements by sheer eloquence and magnetic persuasion. It is the dynamic and incredible personality of our great Chairman P. Wilson who fought for down-trodden non-financial members. The sitting MSSA executive were struck dumb and their arses plugged and could do nothing but agree.

Long live the saviour, light, guide and patron of MSSA and champion of non-financial members — Peter Wilson.

Yours in balls,

R.A. Montree
