Rugby league

Rugby league

This was one sport where Victoria was utterly and completely rubbished finishing bottom of the competition out of the five universities participating.

Auckland and Otago dominated winning three games each and in the final between them the score at the finish was 5-5.

Victoria was thrashed by Auckland 40-0. by Canterbury 27-6, by Otago 19-7 and beaten 24-20 by Massey in a close game.

Two Vic reps, John Haynes and George Rasmussen were selected for the NZU League Team which toured Australia. In the NZU 'B' team which played Otago were 2 other Vic players E. Nathan and R. Burberry.
