Salient: Victoria University Students' Paper. Vol. 29, No. 14. 1966.

'Words' Again

'Words' Again

The Second Issue of the publication. Words, will be appearing this term. Words publishes serious critical essays by staff members or students, often dealing with topics related to university courses. The first issue in June, 1965, consisted of studies of 18th century literature. The coming issue covers the 16th and 17th centuries. About half the contributions this time are by students. They include articles by Bruce Babbington and K. Northcotebade on the poetry and plays of Ben Jonson, a study of The Rape Of The Lock" by P. J. Robb, and an article on Dante by a lecturer from Auckland. Other contributors include Robin Fleming, Linda Roddick and Judith Dale. Some items have been held over through lack of space, though the present issue contains 30 more pages than the last one.

The price of Words has been maintained at 5 -, within reach of the student pocket, although this means that Wai-te-Ata Press meets the deficit. For this reason, and because student work is published, the students' association was approached for a £30 grant last year. This was. however, refused.
