Massey Want Referendum
Massey Want Referendum
Massey University students are to approach the Government to ask for a referendum to be held in conjunction with this year's general election to assess public attitude to the reform of liquor licensing laws.
Former student association president, Mr. P. Rimmer, told the annual general meeting of the Massey University Students' Association that the time had come for the Government to take action on the liquor laws.
In putting a motion to the meeting he said a referendum should ascertain public attitude to the liberalising of the hours of public bars and to the liberalising of public restaurants.
The motion was unanimously carried.
