Banking Business

If the Wellington Savings Bank decides to open a branch at Victoria University it may find itself doing some very good business with students. Students have been attracted to the Bank of New Zealand in the past because of the on-campus savings facilities it offers. But with the increased number of cheque and savings accounts being opened by students, the VUW agency is finding it difficult to cope with the demand for its services. A recent spot check made by a Salient reporter revealed a queue of 17 people waiting to deposit and withdraw money. Unless this position is rectified soon by the provision of additional tellers or extended hours, students are likely to take their business elsewhere.
